|Full Name||guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase|
|Product Description||Rabbit polyclonal antibody to GAMT (guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase)|
|Background||The protein encoded by this gene is a methyltransferase that converts guanidoacetate to creatine, using S-adenosylmethionine as the methyl donor. Defects in this gene have been implicated in neurologic syndromes and muscular hypotonia, probably due to creatine deficiency and accumulation of guanidinoacetate in the brain of affected individuals. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]|
|Synonyms||PIG2 antibody, TP53I2 antibody, GAMT antibody, guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase antibody|
|Immunogen||Recombinant protein encompassing a sequence within the center region of human GAMT. The exact sequence is proprietary.|
|Predicted Cross Reactivity species Predicted cross-reactivity:|
Predicted cross-reactivity is based on sequence homology, with greater than 80% immunogen sequence identity considered positive.
