Histamine Receptor H2 antibody, C-term
|Application Note||Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 55kDa and a stronger 28kDa in Human Colon and Duodenum lysates after 0.1µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 40.1kDa according to NP_071640.1. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? Preliminary experiments in paraffin embedded tonsil, shows strongest staining in groups of cells (probably plasma cells) located in proximity of tonsillar epithelium and in rare cells located either in germinal centres or in the interfollicular area. Microwaved antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6, HRP-staining. Recommended concentration 0.3µg/ml. This antibody is expected to recognise both reported isoforms.|
|Positive Controls||The peptide used to product this antibody is available for purchase (Catalog Number:GTX89505-PEP).|
(Please refer to the vial label for the specific concentration)|
|Purification||Purified from goat serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by antigen affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide.|
|Full Name||histamine receptor H2|
|Product Description||Goat polyclonal antibody to Histamine Receptor H2|
|Background||The H2 subclass of histamine receptors mediates gastric acid secretion. Also appears to regulate gastrointestinal motility and intestinal secretion. Possible role in regulating cell growth and differentiation. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase and, through a separate G protein-dependent mechanism, the phosphoinositide/protein kinase (PKC) signaling pathway. |
|Synonyms||OTTHUMP00000161242, H2R, Histamine Receptor H2, gastric receptor 1, HRH2, gastric receptor1, HGNC:5183|
|Specificity||This antibody is specific for Histamine Receptor H2.|
|Predicted Cross Reactivity species Predicted cross-reactivity:|
Predicted cross-reactivity is based on sequence homology, with greater than 80% immunogen sequence identity considered positive.
Please note that we are only able to guarantee products to work in applications and species in which they have been tested.
