ApplicationsWB
Application NoteApprox 110kDa band observed in Rat Brain lysates (calculated MW of 105kDa according to NP_015566.1). Recommended concentration: 2-4µg/ml. A minor band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 23-24kDa. This band was strong in Mouse Brain lysates and faint in Human Brain lysates. The band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunising peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? This antibody is expected to recognise all three reported isoforms (NP_000823.4; NP_067544.1; NP_015566.1).
Positive ControlsThe peptide used to product this antibody is available for purchase (Catalog Number:GTX89302-PEP).
Form SuppliedLiquid
Concentration0.5 mg/ml (Please refer to the vial label for the specific concentration)
PurificationPurified from goat serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by antigen affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide.

Full Nameglutamate receptor, ionotropic, N-methyl D-aspartate 1
BackgroundNMDA receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels with high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. Mediated by glycine. This protein plays a key role in synaptic plasticity, synaptogenesis, excitotoxicity, memory acquisition and learning. It mediates neuronal functions in glutamate neurotransmission. Is involved in the cell surface targeting of NMDA receptors.
SynonymsNMDAR1, NMDA receptor1 / GRIN1, GRIN1, glutamate receptor, ionotropic, N-methyl D-aspartate 1, NMDA receptor 1, NR1, N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor channel, subunit zeta-1, NMDA receptor1, glutamate receptor, ionotropic, Nmethyl Daspartate1, NmethylDaspartate receptor channel, subunit zeta1, glutamate receptor, ionotropic, Nmethyl Daspartate 1, NMDA1, NMDA receptor 1 / GRIN1, glutamate [N
Cellular LocalizationEnriched in post-synaptic plasma membrane and post-synaptic densities.
SpecificityThis antibody is specific for NMDA receptor 1 / GRIN1.
