|Full Name||complement factor properdin|
|Product Description||Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Properdin (complement factor properdin)|
|Background||This gene encodes a plasma glycoprotein that positively regulates the alternative complement pathway of the innate immune system. This protein binds to many microbial surfaces and apoptotic cells and stabilizes the C3- and C5-convertase enzyme complexes in a feedback loop that ultimately leads to formation of the membrane attack complex and lysis of the target cell. Mutations in this gene result in two forms of properdin deficiency, which results in high susceptibility to meningococcal infections. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.|
|Synonyms||BFD antibody, PFC antibody, PFD antibody, PROPERDIN antibody, CFP antibody, "properdin P factor, complement antibody", complement factor P antibody, complement factor properdin antibody|
|Immunogen||Recombinant protein encompassing a sequence within the center region of human Properdin. The exact sequence is proprietary.|
|Predicted Cross Reactivity species Predicted cross-reactivity:|
Predicted cross-reactivity is based on sequence homology, with greater than 80% immunogen sequence identity considered positive.
Please note that we are only able to guarantee products to work in applications and species in which they have been tested.
|Predict Reactivity Note||Human (100%)|
