GeneTex, Inc. started operations in early 1997 in San Antonio, Texas. GeneTex was founded by three internationally known scientists with recognized expertise in oncology and infectious diseases and a businessperson with extensive experience in startup biotechnology companies.

Based on the breadth of experience and expertise of our founders, the company's initial focus was concentrated on a portfolio of reagents that met the needs of researchers working to solve the puzzle of what causes cancer, how cancer can be better diagnosed, and what direction of treatment the doctor and patient should consider.

Our very first products were directed toward breast cancer research and prognosis. More recently, we have added tools for scientists studying basic mechanisms common to many forms of cancer. These research tools include immunological reagents used to study specific proteins and events involved in the regulation of the cell cycle and DNA repair and replication.
