Product Name
Respiratory Syncytial Virus antibody [8B10]
Catalog Number
GTX10016
Product Description:
Mouse monoclonal [8B10] to Respiratory Syncytial Virus
Application Note:
ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. IF: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Detects RSV in infected cell cultures and clinical material from patients. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Background:
The 63 kD Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) fusion protein of the RSS-2 strain (subtype A) directs fusion of viral and cellular membranes, resulting in viral penetration, and can direct fusion of infected cells with adjoining cells, resulting in the formation of syncytia.

Not yet determined
Tested Applications:
ELISA, Immunofluorescence; The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined.

Liquid
Isotype:
IgG1
Specificity:
Nucleoprotein (N) protein specific. Reacts only with mature virions with completely assembled nucleocapsids. Fails to reorganize the N-protein epitope of immature and destroyed virions, which indicates conformation dependence of the 8B10 binding site. No cross-reactivity with influenza A and B viruses, adenovirus and parainfluenza type 1 and 2 viruses.
Immunogen:
Full length native protein (purified RSV virus, strain Long)
Host:
Mouse
