* Working chromogen solution is stable for 1 week, and should be placed in a dark location at 2-8ºC when not in use. Any solution not used after this period should be discarded.

Background:
To use as substrate/chromogen in conjunction with peroxidase-based immunostaining systems.
DAB, a widely used chromogen for immunoperoxidase staining, is well accepted amongst pathologists because of its increased sensitivity and ability to give cleaner background compared to amino ethylcarbazole (AEC). Specimens stained in DAB can be dehydrated, cleared and mounted for permanent record keeping. Stable DAB Plus is more sensitive and stable than traditional working DAB solutions.
Stable DAB Plus is much more sensitive than traditional working DAB solutions, giving the end user the cost-effective option of diluting the primary antibody.
DAB Plus, being stable for 1 week (opposed to 6 hours for tradional working DAB solutions), allows the end user the time and cost effective option of making one solution for the entire work week. This also reduces the toxic build up of excess waste from leftover DAB solutions at the end of every day. Ideal for high volume labs as well as automated stainers.
