SARS-CoV-2 Detection with GeneTex’s SARS-CoV-2 Membrane Protein Proximity Ligation Assay Kit

Sensitive SARS-CoV-2 Membrane Protein Detection with GeneTex’s SARS-CoV-2 Membrane Protein Proximity Ligation Assay Kit

Proximity ligation assay (PLA) is a sensitive and specific tool to detect endogenous proteins, protein-protein interactions, and protein posttranslational modifications at single-molecule resolution. PLA is based on dual recognition of the target protein by a pair of oligonucleotide-conjugated antibodies. With the addition of connecting oligos, the two oligonucleotides form a DNA circle that subsequently serves as a template for localized rolling circle amplification (RCA) (see figure above). An otherwise weak signal from a low-abundance protein or a rare event such as a particular protein-protein interaction or protein modification can be amplified over 1,000-fold in situ by RCA, thus making PLA a valuable research and diagnostic tool. PLA can be performed on adherent cell or tissue section samples.

GeneTex offers the SARS-CoV-2 Membrane Protein Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA) Kit (Cy3) (GTX537371-23) to enable detection of SARS-CoV-2 membrane protein in virus-infected tissue or infected/transfected cell samples as a Cy3-generated fluorescent signal. SARS-CoV-2 Membrane Protein Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA) Kit (Cy3) (GTX537371-23)

Detection of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) membrane protein in a transfected HEK293T cell FFPE Cell Pellet Block (GTX435645) section using the SARS-CoV-2 Membrane Protein Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA) Kit (Cy3) (GTX537371-23). PLA signals appear yellow and nuclei are blue. A) Positive PLA reaction in membrane protein-transfected HEK293T cells. B) Negative control with mock-transfected HEK293T cells. C) Negative control using one non-specific PLA antibody probe in membrane protein-transfected HEK293T cells.
