Application ELISA, Functional Assay, Apuri, Blocking
Reactivity Human
Species Human
APPLICATION

Application Note

The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors is <10 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1 x10^5units/mg.

Calculated MW

15.8 kDa. ( Note )
PROPERTIES

Form

Lyophilized powder

Buffer

1 mg/ml solution of 0.1 M NaCl, 10 mM Tris, pH 7.6.

Storage

Reconstitute in 10 mM Tris, pH 7.6 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4ºC for 1 week or –20ºC for future use. Repeated freeze/thaw cycles will result in some loss of activity.

Antigen Species

Human

Expression System

E. coli

Purification

Purity was assessed by SDS-PAGE (≥98%) and by HPLC (≥98%).

Background

FGF-1 is an acidic heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of a wide variety of cells including mesenchymal, neuroectodermal and endothelial cells. Recombinant human FGF-1 is a 15.8 kDa protein containing 140 amino acid residues.
