IP: Use 2μg/mg protein lysate (Use Protein G). WB: Use at a concentration of 1 - 2 μg/ml for 2 hrs at RT. Predicted molecular weight: 110 kDa. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Major vault protein (MVP) is identical to lung resistance related protein (LRP). Its shape is reminiscent of the nucleopore central plug. Treatment of cells with estradiol increases the amount of MVP in nuclear extract. The hormone-dependent interaction of vaults with ER is prevented in vitro by sodium molybdate. Antibodies to progesterone and glucocortoid receptors are also able to co-immunoprecipitate the MVP. Reportedly, the lung resistance related protein (LRP) is identical to human MVP. LRP is overexpressed in many neoplastic tissues and cells lines indicating a poor response to chemotherapy.
