Background

This gene encodes a phosphatidylinositol (PI) 4-kinase which catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. The mammalian PI 4-kinases have been classified into two types, II and III, based on their molecular mass, and modulation by detergent and adenosine. The protein encoded by this gene is a type III enzyme that is not inhibited by adenosine. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with PI4 kinase alpha antibody [C1C2], Internal (GTX107441) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
