Background

This gene encodes a member of the zinc/iron-regulated transporter-like protein (ZIP) family. The transmembrane protein is required for zinc uptake in the intestine. Mutations in this gene result in acrodermatitis enteropathica, a rare inherited defect in the absorption of dietary zinc. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with SLC39A4 antibody (GTX130285) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. Corresponding RNA expression data for the same cell lines are based on Human Protein Atlas program.
