Background

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been described for this gene. KO/KD

Wild-type (WT) and SIRT3 knockout (KO) 293T cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 12% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with SIRT3 antibody [C3], C-term (GTX106292) diluted at 1:500. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.

SIRT3 antibody detects SIRT3 protein by Western blot analysis. Whole cell extracts (30 μg) was separated by 12% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with SIRT3 antibody (GTX106292) at a dilution of 1:1000.
