Adrenal gland – Adrenocortical adenoma exhibiting weak membranous vimentin immunostaining of tumor.
Adrenal gland – Vimentin staining is limited to stroma and small vessels in an adrenocortical adenoma.
Kidney – Clear cell renal cell carcinoma lacking unequivocal tumor cell staining. Vimentin positivity may be limited to stromal elements.
Kidney – Clear cell renal cell carcinoma showing weak membranous vimentin staining of tumor cells.
Kidney – Papillary renal cell carcinoma with baso-lateratal vimentin staining of tumor cells.
Kidney – Papillary renal cell carcinoma with strong baso-lateratal vimentin staining of all tumor cells.
Kidney – Vimentin negative chromophobe kidney cancer containing vimentin positive blood vessels and inflammatory cells.
Kidney – Vimentin negative chromophobe kidney cancer containing vimentin positive blood vessels.
Kidney – Vimentin negative oncocytoma. Vimentin immunostaining is limited to small vessels.
Larynx – Strong vimentin positivity of the tumor stroma in a squamous cell carcinoma.
Prostate – Prostatic adenocarcinoma (Gleason 3+3=6) showing strong vimentin staining limited to the tumor stroma.
Prostate – Prostatic adenocarcinoma (Gleason 5+5=10) with strong vimentin imunostaining of the tumor stroma and of tumor infiltrating inflammatory cells.
Prostate – Strong diffuse vimentin positivity in all tumor cells of a prostatic adenocarcinoma (Gleason 5+5=10).
Soft tissues – Strong vimentin positivity of all tumor cells in a Leiomyosarcoma.
Testis – Vimentin immunostaining of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and other stroma elements in a seminoma.
Thyroid – Papillary thyroid cancer with weak to moderate baso-lateratal vimentin staining of tumor cells. In addition a strong stroma staining is seen.
Urinary bladder – Strong vimentin imunostaining of the tumor stroma in a muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma.
