Summary

Goat serum is widely used as a blocking or diluent reagent for many common antibody applications. As a blocking reagent, it minimizes background signal by decreasing non-specific binding of antibodies to samples. GTX437948 is recommended for use with non-goat primary antibodies.

APPLICATION

Application Note

We recommend reconstituting the lyophilized goat serum with 10 mL of ddH2O and storing this undiluted solution at 4ºC for up to several weeks or at -20ºC in aliquots for longer periods. An appropriate aliquot of the fully reconstituted goat serum can then be diluted with PBS (e.g., 1:20-1:100) to prepare a working concentration (for the day) for the specific application. For blocking, we suggest a final goat serum concentration of 1-5%.
