Application Note

WB: Use at a dilution of 1/500 - 1/1000. Detects a band of approximately 58 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 58 kDa). Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. We are currently arranging to have this antibody tested in immunofluoresence.

This antibody recognises a 58kD band in human liver lysate. The band is not seen when using the immunising peptide for blocking.

Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a bifunctional enzyme that channels 1-carbon units from formiminoglutamate, a metabolite of the histidine degradation pathway, to the folate pool. Mutations in this gene are associated with glutamate formiminotransferase deficiency. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]
