Background

Has aci-reductone dioxygenase (ARD) activity and can function in the 5-methylthioadenosine (MTA) methionine salvage pathway. Down-regulates cell migration mediated by MMP14. Necessary for hepatitis C virus replication in an otherwise non-permissive cell line.
