Background

Protein Kinase A (PKA) mediated CREB phosphorylation results in the binding of CREB to CBP (CREB-binding protein). Phosphorylation by PKA enables CREB to serve as a scaffold for CBP, which then activates the process responsible for expression of cAMP inducible genes. Sequence analysis of CBP and p300 reveals substantial homology. Reacts with A431 or ML-1 cells and Tonsil.
