Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma membrane protein that is important in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression. K562 whole cell and membrane extracts (30 μg) were separated by 10% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with CD147 antibody [N2C3] (GTX100915) diluted at 1:500.
The observed M.W. is different from the predicted size. It is possibly due to post-translational modifications. Reference: PMID: 21641389
