Background
W3/13 is against a monomorphic determinant expressed on rat thymocytes, T lymphocytes (but not B lymphocytes), plasma cells, polymorphs, stem cells and brain (1,2,3). The antigen recognised is a heavily glycosylated glycoprotein of Mw 95,000 which has a high content of O-linked carbohydrate structures. On thymocytes this glycoprotein is the main target for binding of peanut lectin (4). This antibody is useful for distinguishing B and T lymphocytes and also for analysis of NK cells (5) and stem cells (1).
