Background
This only reacts with the high molecular weight form of the leucocyte common antigen (3) which is the rat homologue of a similar antigen described in man (CD45R) (4). The antigen is found on B cells, approximately 50% of bone marrow cells, a few percent of thymocytes, all CD8 and T cells, but splits CD4 and T cells into two populations differing in their helper activities.
