Background
IL8, formerly called monocyte derived neutrophil chemotactic factor, belongs to the chemokine alpha family. Human endothelial IL8 is an 8.9 kDa protein containing 77 amino acid residues. IL8 exhibits chemotactic activity in vitro for T cells, basophils and neutrophils and promotes degranulation.
