Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a secreted cytokine that induces cardiac myocyte hypertrophy in vitro. It has been shown to bind and activate the ILST/gp130 receoptor. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]

GTX31182 IHC-P Image

IHC-P analysis of human breast invasive ductal carcinoma using Cardiotrophin-1 antibody at a concentration of 0.25 μg/ml. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended.
