Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. Orthogonal

Various whole cell extracts (30 | 15 | 15 μg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with EGFR (L858R Mutant) antibody [HL1022] (GTX635834) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
PC-9 cells express EGFR (Glu746-Ala750 deletion) protein and H1299 cells express wide type EGFR protein. (refer to PMID: 22157369)
