Cellular Localization

Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein , Isoform 2: Secreted

Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. GTX133433 WB Image

Untreated (–) and treated (+) A431 whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with EGFR (phospho Ser1046/Ser1047) antibody (GTX133433) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
