Background
This gene encodes one of three enolase isoenzymes found in mammals; it encodes alpha-enolase, a homodimeric soluble enzyme, and also encodes a shorter monomeric structural lens protein, tau-crystallin. The two proteins are made from the same message. The full length protein, the isoenzyme, is found in the cytoplasm. The shorter protein is produced from an alternative translation start, is localized to the nucleus, and has been found to bind to an element in the c-myc promoter. A pseudogene has been identified that is located on the other arm of the same chromosome. [provided by RefSeq]

ENO1antibody immunoprecipitates ENO1protein in IP experiments. IP Sample: 1000 μg HeLa whole cell lysate/extract A. 40 μg HeLa whole cell lysate/extract B. Control with 2.5 μg of preimmune rabbit IgG C. Immunoprecipitation of ENO1protein by 2.5 μg of ENO1 antibody (GTX113179) 10% SDS-PAGE The immunoprecipitated ENO1 protein was detected by ENO1 antibody (GTX113179) diluted at 1:1000. EasyBlot anti-rabbit IgG (GTX221666-01) was used as a secondary reagent.
