APPLICATION

Application Note

For ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Reactivity against HIV1 >10-5. For WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1-1 μg/ml. This concentration will allow visualization of 100ng/lane of recombinant HIV1 p24. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher.

Product Note

This antiboy reacts with HIV1 P24 (core protein). There's no cross reactivity with HIV1 GP41 and HIV2 GP36.

Background

HIV1 performs highly complex orchestrated tasks during the assembly, budding, maturation, and infection stages of the viral replication cycle. During viral assembly, the proteins form membrane associations and self-associations that ultimately result in budding of an immature virion from the infected cell. Gag precursors also function during viral assembly to selectively bind and package two plus strands of genomic RNA.
