4 μM p23 Protein, when added to 2 μM AHA1 Protein (Aha1)-activated HSP90 (2 μM; His-tagged HSP90 beta) in 33 mM HEPES (pH 7.2) with 30 mM NaCl, 5 mM MgCl₂, 1 mM DTT, 1.5 mM ATP in a 100 μl reaction at 37 ºC, eliminated all Aha1-mediated ATPase stimulation as well as intrinsic HSP90 ATPase activity. (This is an enzyme-linked ATP regeneration assay tracking loss of NADH absorbance at 340nm).

This gene encodes an enzyme that converts prostaglandin endoperoxide H2 (PGH2) to prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). This protein functions as a co-chaperone with heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), localizing to response elements in DNA and disrupting transcriptional activation complexes.
