APPLICATION

Application Note

Recommended Starting Dilutions: For ELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/ml. For IHC-P: Use at a concentration of 0.25 μg/ml. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended. For WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/ml. For Neutralization: one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hIL-17A (50.0 ng/ml), a concentration of 0.9-1.3 μg/ml of this antibody is required. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions should be determined experimentally by the researcher.

Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
