Background

The protein encoded by this gene is the ER to nucleus signalling 1 protein, a human homologue of the yeast Ire1 gene product. This protein possesses intrinsic kinase activity and an endoribonuclease activity and it is important in altering gene expression as a response to endoplasmic reticulum-based stress signals. Untreated (–) and treated (+) HepG2 whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with IRE1 alpha (phospho Ser724) antibody (GTX132808) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
