1. In a functional ELISA which immobilized Human NGF beta protein (GTX01287-pro) at 2 μg/ml (100 μl/well) in the plate, this antibody can block the binding of 5 μg/ml of biotinylated Human NTRK1/Fc Chimera proteinp to Human β-NGF protein. And the EC₅₀ is 3.84 μg/ml.
2. The neutralization activity of this antibody is measured by its ability to neutralize β-NGF-induced proliferation in TF-1 cells. The Neutralization titer (IC₅₀) is typically 0.048-0.19 μg/ml in the presence of 10 ng/ml recombinant Human β-NGF protein.
Not tested in other applications.

Background

This gene is a member of the NGF-beta family and encodes a secreted protein which homodimerizes and is incorporated into a larger complex. This protein has nerve growth stimulating activity and the complex is involved in the regulation of growth and the differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type 5 (HSAN5), and dysregulation of this gene's expression is associated with allergic rhinitis.
