Background

The protein encoded by this gene is found in the nucleus and is a cofactor of DNA polymerase delta. The encoded protein acts as a homotrimer and helps increase the processivity of leading strand synthesis during DNA replication. In response to DNA damage, this protein is ubiquitinated and is involved in the RAD6-dependent DNA repair pathway. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Pseudogenes of this gene have been described on chromosome 4 and on the X chromosome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 12% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with PCNA antibody [HL1966] (GTX637859) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. PCNA antibody [HL1966] detects PCNA protein at nucleus by immunofluorescent analysis.
Sample: HeLa cells were fixed in ice-cold MeOH for 5 min.
Green: PCNA stained by PCNA antibody [HL1966] (GTX637859) diluted at 1:1000.
Red: alpha Tubulin, a cytoskeleton marker, stained by alpha Tubulin antibody [GT114] (GTX628802) diluted at 1:1000.
