Background

GTX17050 (MRP8/MRP14) belong to the S100 protein family. GTX17050 calprotectin complex formation is a calcium-dependent process and is largely confined to the cytosol of neutophils and monocytes. GTX17050 has antibacterial, antifungal, immunomodulating and antiproliferative effects. It is also a potent chemotactic factor for neutrophils and plasma concentrations are elevated in diseases associated with increased neutrophil activity.GTX17050 can be used for early detection of inflammatory macrophages, characterisation of tumorous tissues and monitoring of peripheral blood cell cultures.
