Application Note

We recommend the following starting dilutions: For WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/ml. For ELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/ml. For IHC-P: Use at a concentration of 0.5 μg/ml. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended. For Neutralization: one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Human SDF-1α (100 ng/ml), a concentration of 2-4 μg/ml of this antibody is required. Optimal dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.

Background

This gene encodes a stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine member of the intercrine family. This gene product and its receptor CXCR4 can activate lymphocytes and have been implicated in the metastasis of some cancers such as breast cancer. Mutations in this gene are associated with resistance to human immunodeficiency virus type 1 infections. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

IHC-P analysis of human colorectal adenocarcinoma using SDF1 alpha antibody at a concentration of 0.5 μg/ml. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended.
