Background

This gene encodes the general transcription factor IIB, one of the ubiquitous factors required for transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II. The protein localizes to the nucleus where it forms a complex (the DAB complex) with transcription factors IID and IIA. Transcription factor IIB serves as a bridge between IID, the factor which initially recognizes the promoter sequence, and RNA polymerase II. [provided by RefSeq]

Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 12% SDS-PAGE, and the membranes were blotted with TFIIB antibody [N2C3] (GTX113723) diluted at 1:1000 and competitor's antibody (sc-274) diluted at 1:200. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
