Note :

IHC-Fr
Cryosections of 10 μm were dried, fixed in acetone at 4ºC for 10 min, dried and blocked for 20 min with PBSA.

Neutralizing/Inhibition
Antibody aE11 inhibits platelet activation by antiphospholipid antibody serum.

Not tested in other applications.

Calculated MW

63 kDa. ( Note )

Product Note

Monoclonal antibody aE11 reacts with a C9 neoantigen of the terminal complement complex (TCC) consisting of C5B, C6, C7, C8, C9 (PubMed ID: 4035298). The TCC contains neoantigens that are absent from the individual native components.- C9 neoantigens are present both in the membrane-bound (MAC) and the fluid-phase (SC5b-9) complex.

Background

This gene encodes the final component of the complement system. It participates in the formation of the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). The MAC assembles on bacterial membranes to form a pore, permitting disruption of bacterial membrane organization. Mutations in this gene cause component C9 deficiency.
