ICC/IF 1-2μg/ml
IHC-P 1-2μg/ml for 30 minutes at RT

IHC-P
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues require heating tissue sections in 1mM EDTA, pH 7.5-8.5, for 45 min at 95ºC followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Not tested in other applications.

Product Note

Recognizes a cluster of proteins between 70-80kDa, identified as tyrosinase. Occasionally a minor band at 55kDa is also detected. This MAb shows no cross-reaction with MAGE-1 and tyrosinase-related protein 1, TRP-1/gp75.

Background

The enzyme encoded by this gene catalyzes the first 2 steps, and at least 1 subsequent step, in the conversion of tyrosine to melanin. The enzyme has both tyrosine hydroxylase and dopa oxidase catalytic activities, and requires copper for function. Mutations in this gene result in oculocutaneous albinism, and nonpathologic polymorphisms result in skin pigmentation variation. The human genome contains a pseudogene similar to the 3' half of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
