Summary The mouse monoclonal antibody S-HCL-1 (also known as S-HCL1) recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD22 (BL-CAM), a 130 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein (immunoglobulin superfamily) expressed in the cytoplasm of pro-B and pre-B lymphocytes, and on the surface of mature and activated B lymphocytes; it is lost on plasma cells, peripheral blood T lymphocytes, granulocytes and monocytes.

Differential diagnosis is aided by the results from a panel of antibodies, including antibodies against HMB45, MART-1, tyrosinase, and MiTF.

Summary The C terminus of ALMS1 shares an 8 amino acid stretch with two other human proteins: hypothetical protein (XP_169104) and ERAL1 (NP_005693). However, this stretch is located internally in these two proteins and so will most likely not cross-react with this antibody. The N terminus was not chosen as the peptide is expected to cyclise during synthesis.
