Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Tyro3-Axl-Mer (TAM) receptor tyrosine kinase subfamily. The encoded protein possesses an extracellular domain which is composed of two immunoglobulin-like motifs at the N-terminal, followed by two fibronectin type-III motifs. It transduces signals from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm by binding to the vitamin K-dependent protein growth arrest-specific 6 (Gas6). This gene may be involved in several cellular functions including growth, migration, aggregation and anti-inflammation in multiple cell types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Non-transfected (–) and transfected (+) HeLa whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with AXL antibody [HL2021] (GTX637922) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody, and the signal was developed with Trident ECL plus-Enhanced.

Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with AXL antibody [HL2021] (GTX637922) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.

Indirect ELISA analysis was performed by coating the plate with recombinant HEK293 expressed, AXL (ECD) protein (500-7.81 ng/mL). Coated protein was probed with AXL antibody [HL2021] (GTX637922) (1 μg/mL). Goat anti-rabbit IgG antibody (HRP) (GTX213110-01) (1:10000) was used to detect the bound primary antibody.

Overexpression
