Background

The protein encoded by this gene is the pore-forming subunit of an N-type voltage-dependent calcium channel, which controls neurotransmitter release from neurons. The encoded protein forms a complex with alpha-2, beta, and delta subunits to form the high-voltage activated channel. This channel is sensitive to omega-conotoxin-GVIA and omega-agatoxin-IIIA but insensitive to dihydropyridines. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. GTX102449 ICC/IF Image

Cav2.2 antibody [C3], C-term detects Cav2.2 protein at cell membrane and nucleus by immunofluorescent analysis.
Sample: mouse dorsal root ganglia cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min.
Green: Cav2.2 stained by Cav2.2 antibody [C3], C-term (GTX102449) diluted at 1:500.
Red: NF-H, a axon marker, stained by NF-H antibody [GT114] (GTX634289) diluted at 1:500.

Whole cell extract (30 μg) was separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Cav2.2 antibody [C3], C-term (GTX102449) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
