Background

This gene encodes an angiogenic factor which promotes angiogenesis in vivo and stimulates the in vitro growth of a variety of endothelial cells. It has a highly restricted target cell specificity acting only on endothelial cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq]

Whole cell extract (30 μg) was separated by 10% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Thymidine Phosphorylase antibody (GTX100892) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.
