Cluster of Differentiation 44 (CD44) is a non-kinase cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein that is the major receptor for the extracellular matrix component hyaluronate. It exists as the smallest and most expressed CD44 standard (CD44s) isoform as well as a range of variant (CD44v) isoforms generated by alternative splicing. In addition to functioning in various aspects of hemopoiesis, angiogenesis, and cytokine release, CD44 proteins are overexpressed in cancer stem cells and interact with intracellular signaling networks to support the oncogenic properties of tumor cells and drive cancer cell progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance (1).
GeneTex is proud to offer a newly released knockout (KO)-validated recombinant rabbit monoclonal CD44 antibody [HL1650] (GTX637231) to detect CD44 in several applications. This antibody also recognizes both the CD44s and CD44v isoforms by western blot. Please see the product images below and visit www.genetex.com for more details.
